We mowed and weed eat the Homestead yesterday (September 13, 2021). It had been 3-weeks since it was last mowed and weed eat. While mowing yesterday, I thought about how we are helping the adjoining property owner, even though they don’t want us here. Keeping our property mowed is greatly reducing the rat and field mice and snake population. In short, our efforts and hard work are benefitting the ungrateful owners living next door. I think I have mentioned a few words about the field mice and snakes that were living on our property when we bought it (it resembled a jungle), and the owner never said one grateful word.

Picked A Few Pears
We picked a few pears at the Homestead (on September 10, 2021). My desire is to turn this Homestead into a working homestead. When I use the term "working homestead", I mean that I want the homestead to provide us things like fresh food, a place to live, and enjoyment.

Repaired Some Fence and Sprayed Weed/Grass Kill
On August 28, 2021, we repaired the fence at the driveway entrance to the Homestead. I also sprayed weed/grass kill around the driveway, the driveway drain, and on a dirt pile that I plan to use later. Hopefully this will cut down on the weed eating.
Here is a picture of the driveway when it was first built.
