Mowed The Homestead Yesterday (Mournful Acres?)

We mowed and weed-eat yesterday (August 15, 2022). As I was mowing, the name "Mournful Acres" popped into my mind. I just might be changing the name from One Horse Homestead to Mournful Acres. At this writing, the name Mournful Acres seem fitting, due to all the aggravation I have had to deal with after buying this property.

Mowed The Homestead

Mowed the Homestead today. It wasn't as bad as last time. I thank the good Lord above for strength and health to do these labor jobs.

Mowed the future Homestead

Yesterday (July 4) we mowed and weed-eat the Homestead. The grass wasn't as tall as it was the last time we mowed, which made it easier to mow.

Got A Few Chores Done

Went to the Homestead and Sprayed weed/grass killer. Planted a Banana Tree. Strung some barbed wire atop the 3’ welded wire around the orchard.

Mowed The Homestead

Mowed the Homestead yesterday (June 20). It hadn't been mowed in 4-weeks and it was a mess. My old body ain't what it used to be, and spending 7-hours on the mower reminds me of it.

Planted Some Fruit-Bearing Trees

 Yesterday (May 13, 2022) we planted 2 peaches, 1 plum, 2 elderberries, 1 blackberry.

Mowed and Weed-eated the Homestead

We mowed and weed-eated the Homestead yesterday (May 2, 2022). Took us about 7 hours. The grass was tall and thick. My old body aches and hurts after spending 7 hours on the mower. I really need a bigger mower with a wider mowing deck, but I can't afford one at this time.

Went To The Homestead Today

Went to the Homestead today. We planted 3 prelude raspberries and cut up a fallen locust branch that had broken off the big locust tree.

Replenished The Fruit Trees

I am a little late posting this. On Monday (March 21, 2022, we went to our Homestead and put fertilizer spikes and cardboard around the pear trees, the apple trees, and the persimmon tree. We also applied some acidity nutrient and cardboard around each of the blueberry bushes. We planted one Oregon Champion Gooseberry bush and one Hinnomaki Red Gooseberry bush (unfortunately I will have to move these to another location).

The Homestead is growing very slowly, although I certainly would like to see it grow at a much faster pace. Lack of money is holding us back. I am retired (Social Security), and my monthly pension barely gets us by.
